Fine Art Prints

Printing

Printing my photos on a beautiful paper is the ultimate goal for my photography. I like to experiment with different papers and framing.

The fine art prints are printed on Canon Pro 1000 printer using Lucia Pro high longevity pigment inks.  I use a number of different fine art papers depending on the images. The papers I work most with for the moment are;

Hahnemühle Photo Rag

This paper is a white 100% cotton rag.  This acid- and lignin-free paper  meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance and is specially designed for FineArt applications. The white cotton artist’s paper, with a characteristic rather smooth surface structure and soft feel. The paper is ideal for archival printing of both colour and  black photographs.

Hahnemühle Museum Etching

Hahnemühle Museum Etching is a natural white cotton art paper with an inkjet coating specially optimised for FineArt printing. This heavyweight textured paper does not contain optical brighteners and is characterised by its high stability. The finely textured surface with fine felt structure lends FineArt prints added depth and a three-dimensional effect. Combined with the pure cotton base, this creates a wonderfully soft tactile feel and artistic impression. The premium matt inkjet coating produces excellent print results. Colours are wonderfully vivid, the depth of the black truly stands out and details are reproduced perfectly. The acid- and lignin-free Museum Etching meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance and is ideal for reproducing photographs.

Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta Satin

Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin is a natural white FineArt inkjet paper made of 100% α-cellulose that has been refined with a special inkjet coating for finer applications. The subtly textured, smooth base paper contains no optical brighteners and has a silky, smooth surface texture.  The satin-gloss premium inkjet coating gives high-quality print results with intense colours, deep blacks and sharpness.The acid- and lignin-free FineArt inkjet paper meets  requirements for age resistance and produces stunning FineArt reproductions of black and white and colour photographs.

Awagami  Bamboo - japanese paper - 250g/m²

For 300 years, Awagami has been making paper in Tokushima Japan and recently developed 'Awagami Inkjet Paper' (A.I.J.P) as a completely unique paper line for the inkjet world.  Each sheet has a truly handmade look and feel and made from renewable, neutral pH and completely eco-friendly materials such as as Kozo (mulberry), Bamboo and Hemp.  The paper has museum-quality and archival permanence.  Made with a more subtle coating than other inkjet papers, images printed on this paper will unite with the paper itself creating a singular work of art. I use this paper for some of my brighter woodland photography.
